CPSC votes on its FY 2017 Midyear Review and Proposed Operating Plan Adjustments

The following Section 104 product categories which were in the final rule stage or notice of proposed rulemaking stage have moved to data analysis and/or technical review, essentially allotting more time for the voluntary standards process. Reasons for the changes are listed below. 
 
  • Changing Tables- Allow more time for staff to work with ASTM to ensure completion of the revised voluntary standard.
  • Children's Folding Chairs and Stools- Allow more time to complete the work with ASTM to revise the voluntary standards.
  • Gates and Other Enclosures- Allow more time to work with the ASTM subcommittee and resolve a test method issue to measure accurately and consistently higher push forces.
  • High Chairs- Allow more time to complete the work with ASTM to revise the voluntary standards.
  • Stationary Activity Centers- Allow more time for staff to work with ASTM to ensure completion of the revised voluntary standard.
